On the class web site is a link to the Java 8 docs (the API)
        
        there are 3 frames on the docs..
        
        1) (upper left) is a list of Packages
        2) (lower left) is a list of:
            A) All Classes
            B) the Classes in the chosen Framework
        3) (the main) is the details
        
        please slect the Package java.lang (the core language classes)
        then select the String class
        and look at the main window
        
        in Java we call Methods, so click the Method Summary link
        in the main window
